Many boarding schools have a fixed admission calendar with set dates for applying. The school year begins in September, and whenever possible entrance applications should be made one year in advance. Other schools offer flexible rolling admission, if and when spaces become available. Boarding schools are selective and applicants must satisfy the entry requirements. These usually include a test or exam, and in some cases, a personal interview. If it is not possible for the student to visit the school in person, Select Schooling can sometimes arrange for this interview to be conducted via Skype and the entrance exam taken at a local approved examination centre. Competition for entry can be fierce, and in order to increase the chances of acceptance we always recommend applying to several schools.
